Bayfield is known for its apple orchards, but since we were too early for the apples to be ripe when we visited in late-June, we looked into other options. Blueberries were not ripe yet either. Strawberries were! We picked up a flier at the Apostle Islands Visitor Center and drove off in search of strawberries. The first farm we stopped at was all out of berries. It had been a good day for them and they were all sold out. We drove a little further to the Rocky Acres Berry Farm. There was a little stand set up with berries and an open cash register. We picked out a small crate of berries, checked the pricing, and put our cash in the drawer. I love how small towns expect and trust people to be honest! We enjoyed our berries and ran out of them too soon!
