Soda Dam

We stopped by Soda Dam, along the Jemez River as well. The Soda Dam is a HUGE deposit from hot springs in the area. The deposits are so extensive, that they have altered the course of the river. There are still springs there, so the deposit is still growing, although they don't come out of the top of the deposit anymore. This is definitely a place worth looking at.

The Soda Dam. We talked to some locals who used to slide down the waterfall.

When I took this picture, I was standing on the road. It goes all the way across the canyon, except for where they have blasted it away for the road to go through. It has to be 200' or so long and 5o' wide.
