Mark Twain, Tom Sawyer, and Hannibal, MO

On our drive home from Nauvoo, we made a short sidetrip to Hannibal, Missouri.  The downtown is cute, with lots of little shops along the sidewalks,  Most famous for its tie to Mark Twain, and the hometown of fictional Tom Sawyer, Hannibal is a place to visit if you're a fan of great American writing.
Just off the north end of Main Street is a full block of Tom Sawyer related sites.  The kids wanted to take a turn "painting" Tom Sawyer's fence.
There were also several buildings spoken of in Tom Sawyer, such as Aunt Polly's House and Becky Thatcher's house.
