In mid-July I had some business to attend to out in Columbia, Missouri. I brought my family along since they would enjoy going. We quickly finished our business then went to Stephens Lake Park to play at the splashpad. Stephens Lake Park is a beautiful park, with walking/running trails, playgrounds, pavilions for events, and a lake for fishing.
The splashpad is on the west side of the lake. Water fountains shoot jets and streams of water into the air, and kids have a fantastic time playing in them. Our kids were timid at first, but before long were having a wet and giggling good time. They ran through the streams, jumped through them, and even stood on top of a few of them.
Right next to the splashpad is a swim beach that is also quite popular. The sandy beach entry area is also cordoned off to restrict fishing. There's nothing worse for a swimmer then getting hooked by a fisherman! Stephens Lake Park is definitely a place that we would visit a lot if we lived in Columbia.
