After Cobble Beach and the tidepools we had lunch and were ready to go tour the lighthouse. The light is only open from noon to 4, so we had spent our time in the morning at the tidepools.
There was a small line, but we only had to wait for 20 minutes or so until it was our turn to take the tour. Unfortunately the kids had to stay out on this one since they restrict entry to those taller than 42 inches. It's pretty noisy in the lighhouse, so they keep the kids out in order to help control the noise. The tour guide was very accomodating and allowed us to trade off in the middle of the tour so that we both could go up to the top.
It's pretty inside. It was built with elegance and class- I think the builders of yesteryear understood that things can be both functional and graceful.
They only let 1 person at the top ata time. While I was waiting to go up, I thought that something was going on by the way the tourguide was acting. Sure enough, there was a young couple on the tour with me and the guy had let the tourgide in on the loop. He was pretty anxious, and when the girl came down from looking at the lens, he popped the question. It's a pretty sweet spot to get engaged I thought. Congrats to them!
