The scenery was amazing.
We found where the creek disappears underground. It flows almost right into a cliff.

Higher up, we found an old mine. The cool part was that the cart rails were still in place.
Inside, it went back quite a ways. Some places even had the old timbers still there.
Near the mine, below the mine dump is an old pump.

We crossed the creek several times over the course of the hike.

What great photos, thanks for sharing. I'd love to go hiking in that area one day...
ReplyDeleteDo you have the GPS coordinates of that cave?
ReplyDeleteOf course I do! They're just not something that should be plastered up for anyone to see.
ReplyDeleteBen can I chat with you more about the mine rails and caves? Hiked this area for years with my father, who recently passed, but never saw those rails. Thanks for any information you may share. Anthonysburton78@gmail.com
DeleteHello, I'd like to get more info about the silver mine you found near the cave. I've been to the cave 3 times and we've tried hunting for the silver mine, but with no luck. Any help you could provide would be much appreciated! I'm headed up there next week and I'd like to try to find it again.
