The Devils Backbone

Saturday we hiked the Devil's Backbone, a prominent rocky outcropping near Loveland. There are extensive hiking trails, in the area, but we limited ourselves to a loop of about 2 miles. Our destination was the Keyhole, a hole in the ridge that forms an arch. The hike was easy and casual. We brought lunch along and enjoyed it in the shadow of the arch. When we were up close to the rock, it sure looked like a fun place to go climbing. Unfortunately there are signs prohibiting rockclimbing, getting on the rock, or leaving the trails.
