Wild Blackberries in Kansas

July is when blackberries start to ripen in Kansas.  We were out and about over the winter and discovered a patch or two, so since mid summer was here, we headed out to see if we could find them again.  Some patches didn't have any berries, but two of them did! We plinked them into our buckets and mouths.  Blackberries are delicious!  On the way home we picked up some ice cream to make blackberry shakes.  They were so good, we went out and did it again the next week after some more berries had ripened.
