Where The Little House on the Prairie was Written

We have a little bookworm that has been tearing up burning through obsessed with(!) the Little House on the Prairie and the other books of the series.  She even had a time she was renaming her stuffed animals so that they'd fit the names in the book.  "Now this one is Pet, and this one is Patty, and this is Jack" and so forth.  A while back I'd picked up a flyer on the Ingalls homestead site in southeastern Kansas, so I looked at the other places that might be linked.  When I saw the Laura Ingalls Wilder home in Mansfield, Missouri, I knew that it would be a great place to stop and surprise our little self proclaimed Laura.  The house is now a museum and open for tours.  We saw Pa's fiddle, and one of Laura's dresses, among other things. A picture of the house outside was all we could do for the blog though.  They are building a new museum this year (2015) so visitors in the future will be able to see much more at her Rocky Ridge Farm.
