Window Cave Mine

The map I found refers to this mine as "Window Cave." It's just north of Shepherd Creek, and a little harder to just walk to. The hillsides are pretty steep, and it's up the slope a ways from the creek below. We found that the best way to access it was off of a cul-de-sac directly west of the mine. Just park in the circle, then follow the utility lines toward the mouth of the canyon.

Window Cave is named such because of the window at the mouth of it. The hole is about 8 square feet and just off of the main entrance.

The mine is only about 10 feet deep, and unspectacular in and of itself, but the bluish colored rocks inside were pretty cool. I wish I had brought a geologist hammer to pry off some smaller pieces.
