Devils Tower National Monument

We rolled into the Devils Tower Campground late in the evening. The tower looked impressive in the gloom, but we had camp to set up first. We got situated in the campground in preparation for our visit to the tower in the morning.

In the morning we woke up, ate breakfast, then drove up to the tower to see it more closely.

It certainly is impressive! I think it looks like a big tree stump. There are several hikes around the tower. We took the closest one to the base. It is paved the whole way around, so is accessible to just about everybody.
We spent several hours admiring and gawking before heading along to other sites.
