Hiking up the South Fork

We took a hike up the South Fork of the Weber River on June 26. It was an awesome hike. The canyon was beautiful and full of unexplored adventure.

The scenery was amazing.

We found where the creek disappears underground. It flows almost right into a cliff.

Higher up, we found an old mine. The cool part was that the cart rails were still in place.
Inside, it went back quite a ways.
Some places even had the old timbers still there.
Near the mine, below the mine dump is an old pump.

We crossed the creek several times over the course of the hike.

We also found a cave when we were up there.
We only made it down the first drop in the cave. We shined our lights around and saw an underground waterfall further in, but there was also a big drop to get down to it. Unfortunately, we didn't have equipment to make it further. I'll be back!

  3. Of course I do! They're just not something that should be plastered up for anyone to see.
